Registration for the 2017 Valley Devfest starts today 9.5.17

This will be the second year of Valley Devfest following the very successful Fresno DevFest over the prior 3 years. The planning committee has confirmed the date and time, Sunday October 22nd. Nancy Mohamed will be the lead for the event. Last year over 300 attended and there is preparation for over 400 this year. Committees are finalizing content and all the other functions needed to put on a terrific event.  Speaker proposals and solicitations are complete with six tracks including tech talks, design, Cloud, mobile, machine learning and Maker space. There are over 15 speaker proposals and counting including Googlers and Google Development Experts. Arrangement for food include 2 food trucks, swag and other prizes expected. Contribution and fundraising has had a good start but this year will be bigger and better so we are looking for help with the costs. You can contribute through www.valleydevfest.com website.

More information see : (ticket information)

Date: October 2017 Location: at Bitwise South Stadium 9 am to 4 pm

Fresno GDG is coordinating the event. Specifics about tracks and speakers are under development and expect it to be modeled like the 2016 event with great talks and speakers.

Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers who are interested in Google's developer technology; everything from the AndroidChromeDrive, and Google Cloud platforms, to product APIs like the Cast APIMaps API, and YouTube API.

A GDG can take many forms - from just a few people getting together to watch Google's latest video, to large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to events like code sprints and hackathons. However, at the core, GDGs are focused on developers and technical content, and the core audience should be developers.

GDG Fresno has regular tech talks the first Thursday of the month (see calendar) and has provided hackathons too. There has been some affiliated groups arise like an active local Women Techmaker (see calendar) which meets the third Sunday of the month and information about meeting is through our calendar link and  Meetup.
